Sex and your Nervous System
Why/how does working with your Nervous System have an affect on your sex life?
“The human body can’t produce stress hormones and sex hormones at the same time; the body prioritizes which hormones to produce based on the messages from our nervous system, and they are reciprocally connected. If we produce more sex hormones, we’ll produce fewer stress hormones. If you’re stuck in the stress modes of your system – fight, flight or freeze physiology due to incomplete expression of something that happened in your past-you will produce less of the feel-good hormones.”

Prior to starting my sessions with Janis my mom had passed away. It was a very stressful time. She had been unwell for a long time which I realize now kept me in a state of fight/flight. A few months after she passed away I had a sudden medical procedure which was extremely painful. This woke me up to all the other medical procedures I had experienced that were painful and traumatizing to me. That coupled with my mom's death made me realize something was going on with me and I needed help. I then began to do research on the nervous system. I began to realize I was living in a state of fight or flight all the time.
